The beauty of having our own in-house die making capability is that we have complete control over the creative process. Working with your ideas and designs, we can trial different textures and finishes, embossing and foiling, until you are completely satisfied with the results.

Our investment in the latest BOBST Vision Foil machines has taken our foiling capabilities to the next level, enabling us to keep pace with demand for foiled packaging across a range of sectors.

Emboss and foil – from pastels to metallic, our foiling can be used to create a metallic finish to a flat or raised image, over fine or large areas. Embossing and foiling can be completed simultaneously, so we produce high-volume work in a fraction of the time quoted by other packaging providers.

Print over foil – our print over foil service creates a similar effect to a mirror board. An extensive range of colours and effects gives you a shiny design with a raised appearance.

Foil stamping and holographic foil – a foiling finish, combined with embossing, gives an almost 3D effect. We offer a wide assortment of colours in addition to the popular gold, silver, copper, gloss, and matt finishes, as well as optical effects such as holographic foil.

Embossing and de-bossing – whether you choose blind embossing (no ink on the raised or depressed area) or decide to apply ink or foil, you can be assured of the very best results.

We have three Heidelberg presses, allowing us to offer six-colour printing, including metallic or fluorescent inks and various varnishes in a single pass; a great way to deliver truly impactful design.

Pearlescent Finish – a dramatic shimmering effect created by using a speciality pigment made from crushed mother of pearl particles, adding highlights and depth.

Reticulation effect – a wrinkled snakeskin effect.

Sandpaper finish – grainy particles are suspended in a coating to create a tactile sandpaper-like texture.

Soft-touch coating – creates a leather-like effect with a matte appearance.

UV Gloss – Produces a high gloss print finish with instant UV curing.

Gloss emulsion – water-based varnish with a medium gloss.

Satin emulsion – water-based varnish with a subtle sheen finish.

At Herbert Walkers, we also provide window patching and gluing.

Window patching is the ideal way to show off a product, framing it within attractive packaging, just like a miniature shop window. We offer bespoke window placement, including sophisticated three sides windowed cartons for greater product exposure, with a wide choice of films.

Investment in the latest technologies and a J-Pack Autopacker has further increased the efficiencies of our gluing and packing processes. Boxes and cartons are produced in-line and at speed. Combined with state-of-the-art Bobst machinery, our creasing, perforating and plough folding capabilities create durable, well-presented boxes every time.
